What browsers are supported ?

Netscape 3.01 or greater and Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.02 and greater.

Browsers' support of HTML varies greatly. This site has many interactive functions and your browser must support of passing information from you to the server. I have attempted to avoid the use of cookies, image maps, java script, frames and other advanced features to make the site simple to use. It is impossible to support every browser.

AOL's browsers earlier than 3.0 do not support the interactive functions required for this site. Check with AOL about upgrading your browser.

Can you help me with my genealogy research ?

No. I maintain this site as a hobby and I am only an amateur genealogist.

A good source of information for genealogy research is one of the many mailing lists available - they are available by surnames, geographical regions, and topics including some "how to" or "newbee." The Internet Genealogy community is a helpful bunch. For more information on mailing lists go to http://www.rootsweb.com/~maillist/

Gen-Newbie is another good place to visit for those who are new to computers and/or genealogy, to ask questions, help others, and generally share information, research techniques, sob stories, brick walls, and computer woes.

I never got an email after I added my ancestor.

There is an email sent when an entry is added. If that message is bounced back to me because of an incorrect email address, the entry is placed in the Bad Email Bin for 30 days. You may correct your email address in the bad email bin by accessing Bad Email Bin.

I can not find the entry I just added.

Your entry is not immediately added to the online database. I review all of the entries before they are posted to the online database. During the review process, I check for incorrect email addresses and any inappropriate entries. I usually process the entries between 6-8 PM EST daily. Since I am maintaining this site as a hobby and there is only myself to complete the review, this schedule varies.

I can not find my entry - it used to be in there. What happened to it?

I do purge entries when the email address seems to be invalid. Every three to six months I test all email addresses in the database to be sure they are correct and current. Entries with invalid addressor are eliminated.

Do you sell the email addresses?

NO !

I do not sell email addresses collected by this site, nor do I email any solicitations to the addresses in the database. I will periodically send an email to check the status of the email address.

Also, I have placed some of my own information in the database under different email addresses to catch anyone unlawfully using this site to collect email addresses.
