Search Criteria and Instructions:

I Found It! searches the URL, Title, Short description and Keywords. Name and E-mail are not included in the search database. I Found It! does not automatically search and index your web site: the search is based on the information you enter above. You may enter more than one page from your site if the pages have differing content resulting in different keywords. We may edit your request to improve the overall quality of the directory.

URL: the address of the site.

Title or Page Name: The page title. Users that click on the page title will be linked to your site. Please use all caps for surnames only.

Short Description: A short description of the site. This description will be displayed beside the page title.

Keywords: Add any word you feel is related to your site. Please do not repeat any word found in the URL, Title or Short Description. Keywords are not displayed with the search. The more precise your keywords the easier it is for someone to find your site. Using keywords like genealogy or roots are unnecessary since this a genealogy only search engine.

Sample of a displayed entry of the database.

  1. The title of your page A short description of the site. This description will be displayed beside the page title.

Hints:

  1. Use both state abbreviations and the full spelling.
  2. Use the keywords to describe the content of the site: e.g. Sndyer Fayette County PA Pennsylvania census bible marriages. Using words like genealogy or roots are unnecessary since this a genealogy only search engine.
  3. For USGenWeb sites, we would like for the page name to start with the following format for ease of use:
ST - county ... If you do a wildcard search of USGenWeb sites, you should see what we are attempting to accomplish.
